The following meetings of general interest took
place:
February 8 CCW Annual General Meeting followed by luncheon.

speaker was Mr Anders Källström,Ceo
of West Sweden
Chamber of Commerce and Industri. His presentation was
entitled “

to the Botanical Gardens of Göteborg.
After luncheon
professor Arne Strid took us on an interesting
tour around the Gardens.

Meeting of Corps Consulaire en Suède

Saltsjöbaden

National Day. As usual a nice boat trip in the archipelago
and a lovely buffet dinner.

Göteborgs Universitet. Her
presentation was entitled

November 14 Monthly luncheon meeting.
Guest
speaker was Ms Barbro Fischerström
CEO, of Svenska
Tidningsutgivarföreningen who informed us about the World
Congress
of the World Association of Newspapers to be
held I Göteborg 2008.
December 2 A
traditional and generous “Advent kaffe buffet”
was served at the Governor´s Residence.

of December Mr Göte Bernhardsson
is leaving his post as Governor
after 10 years of service.
Our
Chairman Consul-general Carl G Brunius gave a
nice speech a thanked warmly both Mrs and Mr Bernhardsson
He also
submitted our traditional farewell gift and a bottle of champagne to
Mrs Bernhardsson
December 14 Traditional Lucia luncheon at the Royal Bachelors´ Club.
In addition to the
above it might be of interest to know that the Board have
held 6 meetings.
Main topics of
discussion were financial matters and the Book project concerning the History
of CCW.
The Board spent
quite a time discussing the various aspects of this demanding project.
The financing of
the project is crucial. So far we have on our bank account SEK
105.000:- which we have received from Stena
Foundation (50.000:-), Grén-Broberg´s
Foundation (30.000:-) and Herbert and Karin Jacobsson´s
Foundation (25.000.-).
Furthermore we
have a promise from Mary von Sydow´s Foundation of
25.000:- and through City of
Should any member
have an idea concerning other sources please feel free to contact the Treasurer. We estimate the need to be about SEK 500.000:-.
A presentation
will be made at the AGM February 6
CC en Suède has
dissolved their Funds and has made a dividend to each of the 3
regions of SEK 34.000:-. This money will be
consolidated by CCW for future needs.
The Board of Corps Consulaire
en Suède met in Göteborg
once. CCW representatives on this board are Ralf Galme and
Anita Gerdne.
